Clear Fork Baptist Church was the cornerstone of the Dicey Community in its formation and remains so today. The church was named after the Clear Fork of the Trinity River that flows nearby.

In 1858, Clear Fork Baptist Church was organized in the Andy Green home, and Reverend Noah Byars and Pastor John Turner were both present. Among the charter members were the Andy Green family, the A.W. Simmons family, and the John Long family. The church began with 12 members. The first pastor of Clear Fork Baptist Church was Henry Ruark.

Clear Fork Baptist Church met in member’s homes for many years. At one point, the church met in a log cabin near the Nathan Noland place. Later, a church building was constructed that also served as the community’s school building. The church met downstairs, and the school met upstairs. This first church and school building was located east of the Lee Roberts home, a short distance from where the current Clear Fork Baptist Church building stands.

The current church building was built in 1903. It has been renovated and remodeled over the years but retains its iconic 1903 charm. The congregation of Clear Fork Baptist Church has seen times of plenty, and times of need, but has remained active in ministry since 1858.

An Historic Texas Subject marker was awarded to Clear Fork Baptist Church in 2025, and the placement of the marker is forthcoming.
